Columbia River

WHY CHOOSE ADVENTURE ON THE RIVER

Adventure on the River provides a unique opportunity for young people to develop confidence and teamwork skills while experiencing a spirit of adventure.  The skills attendees learn will serve them not only on the water but in all aspects of their lives!

Participants who have never been on the water before will come away confident after having mastered a new environment.  Those with on-the-water experience will enhance their safe boating and leadership skills.

WHERE IS THE PROGRAM

All activities will launch out of the Portland Sea Scout base, located on Marine Drive near the Portland airport (map).

All attendees will need to be dropped off between 8 and 8:30 and picked up between 4:30 and 5 at this location.

We encourage attendees to carpool and will help to put you in touch with other attendees from your area.  Most sailing and boating will take place on the Columbia river next to the base.  The overnight camping event will take place on Government Island two miles upriver from the base.
